About the Role
We are seeking a skilled MongoDB Administrator to manage, optimize, and maintain our MongoDB database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, security, scalability, and availability while supporting development teams with data-related requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and upgrade MongoDB databases in production and development environments.
Monitor database performance and implement optimization and tuning techniques.
Design and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions (e.g., Replica Sets, Sharding).
Ensure database security, access control, and compliance.
Perform regular database maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
Work closely with developers to support data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
Implement automation scripts for database tasks and monitoring.
Maintain documentation for database architecture, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Handle database migration, scaling, and performance tuning.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Proven experience as a MongoDB Administrator or similar role.
Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, indexing, replica sets, and sharding.
Hands-on experience with backup and recovery tools.
Proficiency in Linux environment and shell scripting.
Ability to optimize MongoDB queries and performance.
Knowledge of security best practices and user access management.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Basic understanding of Python or other scripting languages is a plus.
Good to Have
Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager, Prometheus).
Knowledge of NoSQL data modeling and schema design.
Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Kubernetes.
Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
MongoDB Professional Certification is an added advantage.
